2022 Mont-Redon Côtes du Rhône, Southern Rhône France

Established in 1842 in the high plateau of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Mont-Redon is a 100 hectare Estate, comprising all 18 of the appellation’s permissible varieties, farmed organically and Vinified with modern techniques in a modern winery, built alongside the original, 180 year old establishment.

A blend of 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah from vineyards between Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, vinified in stainless steel tank to retain freshness and purity.

Along with the bright red fruits and fine tannin, there is a character in this wine the French refer to as ‘Garrigue’ which refers to wild Mediterranean herbs (Rosemary, Thyme, Taragon) and this hint of herb lifts the wine to a level above its competitors and adds to its complexity and more-ishness.
